Clash with SER Championships

We are aware that the date of the South East Primary Schools' team championships clashes with one of the South East Region age group championships events. We are often asked if we can avoid this clash.
Unfortunately there is no practical alternative date that will fit the ESSA national deadline, avoid conflict with the SER championships and avoid school holiday windows.
The clash happens most years and even when we have moved our competition we find that the SER dates still clash. We have to book the pool over a year in advance to be sure of availability and the SER do not finalise their dates until after our booking has been made.
It is usually possible for any primary school swimmers that do not make the finals at the SER championships to make their way to Guildford in time for the Schools team championships, so this clash does not affect many swimmers and is unavoidable.

Alternative methods of qualifying

We have been asked whether a team that is unable to compete at the South East Division's primary schools' team championships could use an alternative means for qualifying for the national championships.
This may be due to clash with other commitments of the team's swimmers, illness or injury.
While we allow alternative routes at the county round, it is not practical to do so at the divisional round and it is unfair to those that have made the divisional gala to use alternative routes.
Other divisions do not necessarily use the same conditions as we swim to in the South East qualifying gala, and the window between Divisional qualifying and entry to the national championships is already too short to allow for the logistics of alternative routes.

Schools that have not completed their acceptance form by the deadline.

 
The deadline for submission of entry forms was Sat 18th April.
This was extended to Monday 20th April due to some schools not returning from Easter break until this date.

Schools that have not submitted their form by this date risk forfeiture of their place as this may be offered to a reserve team.

We will still accept late form submissions where the place has not already been offered to a reserve team.

Schools that have not submitted a response form by 23rd April will not be included in the printed programme, but may still be accommodated on the day if an empty lane is available. Any school in this situation should check with the organiser before committing to travel on Saturday 25th April.
